Scindia Inaugurates Six Upgraded Post Offices in MP

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M Scindia recently inaugurated six renovated post offices across Madhya Pradesh, underscoring the Government’s focus on modernising postal infrastructure and improving time-bound public service delivery.
The Minister inaugurated Sub-Post Offices at Kolaras, Jagatpura, Badarwas, Pichhore and Katthamil, along with the City Post Office. The upgraded facilities offer enhanced customer amenities and seamless access to mail and parcel services, savings and insurance schemes, digital offerings and financial inclusion initiatives, significantly improving outreach in semi-urban and rural areas.
During the visit, the Minister announced the establishment of a seventh National Postal Training Centre at Shivpuri at an estimated cost of Rs 1.11 billion. The new centre will strengthen the Department of Posts’ training ecosystem, which currently includes six centres training around 2,000 personnel annually. He directed officials to complete the Shivpuri facility within eight to twelve months, with the foundation stone to be laid during his next visit.
At a programme in Pichhore, the Minister also announced two upcoming India Post services—Speed Post 24 and Speed Post 48—ensuring guaranteed delivery within 24 and 48 hours respectively, setting new benchmarks for reliable and time-bound delivery.
On the same occasion, he inaugurated the renovated Pichhore Sub-Post Office upgraded at a cost of Rs 2,00,000 and laid the foundation stone for a new Sub-Post Office building to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.11 billion.
The Department of Posts reiterated its commitment to leveraging technology, strengthening last-mile connectivity and supporting inclusive growth through modern, accessible and efficient postal services.
