Shakti Pumps Bags Rs 6.5 Bn Karnataka Solar Pump Order

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has recently secured its maiden order from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited for the installation of 16,780 Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS), with an aggregate order value of Rs 6.5 billion, inclusive of GST. The order marks Shakti Pumps’ entry into the southern region, expanding its geographic footprint and opening new markets.

The contract has been awarded under the Karnataka government’s solar agriculture initiative, which aims to promote renewable energy adoption and strengthen irrigation infrastructure across the state. The project reinforces the growing role of solar-powered solutions in supporting sustainable agriculture.

During the past month, Shakti Pumps has secured cumulative solar pump orders worth around Rs 1,900 crore, inclusive of GST, across multiple states including Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra and Karnataka. These wins further strengthen the company’s leadership position in national solar pump programmes.

Commenting on the development, Dinesh Patidar, Chairman, Shakti Pumps (India) Limited, said the Karnataka order reflects strong trust from state agencies and highlights the accelerating adoption of solar pumping solutions across India, while reiterating the company’s focus on timely execution, innovation and sustainability.
