Sharat Industries Ties Up with West Coast to Expand in Gujarat
Sharat Industries, a leading integrated aquaculture company, has signed a strategic agreement with West Coast Frozen Foods to begin merchant export operations in Gujarat. This marks a major milestone in Sharat’s pan-India expansion.
As part of the agreement, Sharat will utilise an existing shrimp processing facility in Olpad, Gujarat, with operations expected to commence this quarter, subject to regulatory approvals.
The Gujarat facility’s proximity to western ports will reduce turnaround time and enhance export logistics, enabling the company to better serve key global markets including the USA, Europe, China, and other parts of Asia. The move also allows Sharat to expand its portfolio by exporting processed Black Tiger shrimp.
The expansion is projected to generate over Rs 1 billion in incremental revenue during the current financial year, contributing significantly to the company’s growth.
Sharat Reddy, Executive Director, said:
“This partnership is a significant step in our journey to build a geographically diversified and operationally agile presence across India. It enhances our capacity to serve international clients with greater efficiency and strengthens our commitment to delivering diverse, world-class aquaculture products.”
This initiative supports Sharat Industries’ focus on sustainable aquaculture, value-added offerings, and export-driven growth, reinforcing its long-term commitment to stakeholders.
