Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudhir Reddy has unveiled his Vision-2029 programme, aiming to transform the constituency into a model region with major developmental projects before the next general elections.
As part of the plan, villages have been categorised into A, B, and C groups to prioritise works. With support from the Centre and TUDA, the MLA envisions positioning Srikalahasti as both a pilgrim and tourism hub. Recently, along with TUDA Chairman C Divakar Reddy, he finalised the widening of the Area Hospital road using Rs 150 million from TUDA funds.
Key initiatives include the Rs 370 million Shivam-to-Shivam road project, sewage line connections to the STP plant, new civic amenities such as roads in Kondamitta, household drinking water supply, solar-powered streetlights, and the replacement of old municipal vehicles.
For long-pending infrastructure, Rs 2.38 billion in central funds has been allocated for upgrades in Dakshina Kailasa Nagar and Sriram Nagar Colony. Plans also include beautification of the Swarnamukhi river and a ropeway from Kannappa Hill to Durgamma Temple to boost the global profile of Srikalahasti Temple.
On education, the SKIT Engineering College has been revived with JNTU affiliation restored, and Rs 30 million worth of repair works are under way. Civic action has included clearing encroachments in Rajiv Nagar and identifying fake pattas. Connectivity projects, including new BT roads in Renigunta and Thottambedu mandals worth Rs 30 million, and proposals to expand KT Road into a six-lane highway, are also in motion.
Employment generation remains a focus, with industries in the constituency expected to reserve 80 per cent of jobs for local youth, in line with the MLA’s promise during the Yuvagalam padayatra.
