Suzlon Energy has launched a next generation product platform, Blue Sky, as it seeks to re-establish a presence in the European wind market. The company said the platform is designed to serve repowering projects and low wind sites across the region and to meet stricter grid and noise requirements. The move follows a strategic review of overseas markets and a focus on technology upgrades to compete with global original equipment manufacturers.

The Blue Sky platform features modular blades, higher hub heights and updated drivetrain architecture intended to improve energy capture and reduce life cycle costs. It will include digital monitoring and predictive maintenance tools that the firm said will enhance availability and cut operational downtime. Turbine ratings cover a range from five to eight megawatt (MW), allowing deployment in both onshore and nearshore locations.

The company said it plans to offer long term service agreements and localised manufacturing partnerships to support installations and maintenance in key markets such as Spain and parts of northern Europe. Suzlon said it will collaborate with tower and blade suppliers to shorten lead times and to meet repowering schedules for ageing assets. The firm indicated an initial programme of demonstration projects to validate performance under European site conditions.

Management said the relaunch is aimed at building a sustainable order pipeline and at creating skilled jobs in manufacturing and servicing operations. The company described the initiative as part of a broader effort to align offerings with the decarbonisation targets of European utilities and corporate buyers. Suzlon said it will provide further commercial details as projects move into execution. It said training programmes for technicians and collaborations with local logistics providers will support rapid scale up.
