Tata Power Partners with VE Commercial Vehicles to Drive Electric Mobility in India

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, and VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) have announced a strategic collaboration to boost the adoption of electric commercial vehicles across India, with an initial focus on the Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles.

Under this MoU, Tata Power will leverage its extensive EV charging network and expertise in customised charging solutions, while VECV will provide its domain knowledge in energy-efficient vehicle operations, ensuring optimal performance and suitability for end-user applications. Together, the companies will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers, facilitating a smooth transition to electric mobility and supporting India’s clean transportation goals.

The partnership will address key challenges such as range anxiety, charging infrastructure availability, and operating costs, and will also support the deployment of other models in Eicher’s growing electric vehicle portfolio. By combining innovative technologies, infrastructure, and sustainability-focused solutions, Tata Power and VECV aim to transform India’s commercial mobility landscape.

Tata Power has expanded its EZ Charge network to over 1.5 lakh home chargers, 5,500+ public and fleet charging points, and 1,200+ e-bus charging points across 630+ cities, serving 4 lakh+ registered customers. Strategically located at highways, malls, offices, hospitals, residential complexes, and depots, these chargers have played a key role in enabling the rapid growth of electric mobility in India.
