Tata Power Q2 Profit Rises on Renewables and EV Push
For H1 FY26, PAT rose 10 per cent to Rs 25.08 billion, revenue increased 4 per cent to Rs 332.33 billion, and EBITDA grew 11 per cent to Rs 79.61 billion.
Business Highlights – Q2 FY26 Renewables
Utility-Scale Growth
Total renewable capacity stands at 5.7 GW (4.7 GW solar, 1 GW wind).
293 MW commissioned in Q2, comprising 111 MW of own projects and 182 MW of third-party EPC.
TPREL signed a major agreement with Suzlon for 838 MW of wind turbine generators across multiple states.
Rooftop Solar
Installed 370 MWp in Q2 FY26.
Now crosses 270,000 installations, with cumulative rooftop capacity exceeding 3.8 GWp.
Segment revenue more than doubled to Rs 11.33 billion, marking 158 per cent year-on-year growth.
Solar EPC & Battery Storage Key wins include:
TPC-D 100 MW/200 MWh BESS (Rs 2.99 billion)
NTPC Khavda 300 MW BOS (Rs 5.21 billion)
First BESPA with NHPC for 30 MW/120 MWh in Kerala

TP Solar is now recognised in the BNEF Tier-1 list (Aug 2025).

EV Charging Infrastructure
5,613 public chargers deployed.
Over 170,000 home charging points installed.
Unveiled India’s largest TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub on World EV Day.
Transmission & Distribution
Six transmission projects totalling over 2,400 Ckm in progress; company on track to exceed 7,000 Ckm by FY28.
Installed 950,000 smart meters in Q2; cumulative installations now exceed 4.1 million across discoms.
Odisha discoms reduced AT&C losses by 1.7 per cent year-on-year.
Launched one-kilowatt rooftop solar adoption scheme under the ULA model.
Thermal & Hydro
IEL commissioned a 15 MW solar plant at Jojobera.
Prayagraj Plant achieved 98 per cent YTD availability, its highest ever.
Mundra plant underwent planned shutdown for overhaul and technical upgrades.
CSR & Sustainability
Tata Power scored 76 in the S&P CSA 2025 ESG Ratings, placing it in the 90th percentile of the Electric Utility sector.
EcoCrew sensitised 300,000 students across 1,016 schools.
Signed an MoU with BNHS for large-scale Miyawaki plantations in the Mulshi Lake catchment.
