Taural India recently commissioned its second aluminium sand casting manufacturing facility in India at Supa, Maharashtra, marking a major expansion after its first plant in Pune. The 30-acre facility was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, and represents a significant addition to the state’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

Designed to meet global engineering and sustainability benchmarks, the Supa plant integrates automation, digital process controls and advanced quality systems. It will manufacture complex, high-tolerance aluminium components for sectors including defence, mobility, energy, aerospace, marine, railways and industrial infrastructure, strengthening Taural India’s ability to serve domestic and international markets.

The project is expected to generate over 1,200 direct employment opportunities as operations scale, along with indirect jobs across logistics, services and local supply chains. By driving industrial growth in Tier II and Tier III regions, the facility supports regional development while reducing migration pressures on major cities.

The Supa facility follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2025 and has progressed from investment intent to full-scale operations within a year, highlighting Maharashtra’s execution capability in attracting and delivering large manufacturing investments.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Taural India’s growth reflects how Indian enterprises can build globally competitive manufacturing capabilities while supporting regional economic development.

Bharat Gite, Founder and CEO, Taural India, said the facility strengthens indigenous aluminium casting capability, creates skilled employment in regional markets and demonstrates that Indian companies can scale high-precision manufacturing to global standards.

Lothar Thoni, JV Partner, Taural India and Owner, Thoni Alutec, noted that India is becoming central to global manufacturing strategies, with facilities such as Supa showcasing the integration of global engineering standards with strong local execution.

The Supa plant further reinforces Maharashtra’s position as a competitive manufacturing hub, aligning with the state’s economic vision and India’s ambition to deepen participation in global supply chains, particularly as demand grows for lightweight and recyclable materials such as aluminium.
