TDP Seeks Swift Nod for Andhra Urban Projects

A delegation of TDP MPs, led by Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu, met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the Parliament premises on Tuesday, urging immediate action on critical urban infrastructure proposals for Andhra Pradesh.
The MPs stressed the strategic relevance of these initiatives in accelerating urban transformation, improving access to housing, and enhancing connectivity across major urban centres in the State.
The delegation, which included TDP Floor Leader in the Lok Sabha Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, outlined priority projects aimed at supporting the State’s urban growth, in line with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s vision to develop Andhra Pradesh as a modern infrastructure hub.
They highlighted the State’s significant progress under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban 2.0, noting that more than 40,000 houses have been sanctioned, with Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) already submitted.
The MPs also sought expedited approval for a proposal from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) under the Urban Challenge Fund. This includes five sustainable development projects in Amaravati, centred on green mobility, renewable energy adoption, and climate resilience.
The delegation requested 25 per cent central funding for these initiatives, aiming to align them with national sustainability and urban development goals.
