Tesla Hires Autopilot Test Drivers in Delhi, Mumbai

Tesla is officially preparing for its entry into the Indian market by opening job positions for prototype vehicle operators in New Delhi and Mumbai. These roles are key to testing the company's advanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) features on Indian roads.
The electric vehicle giant is seeking candidates to join its vehicle data collection team. The role involves operating an engineering vehicle for five to eight hours daily, recording dynamic audio and camera data to support training and validation of Tesla’s autonomous driving systems.
“This role requires a high level of flexibility, strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment,” Tesla said in its recruitment advertisement.
Applicants must be familiar with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS). Responsibilities include activating and deactivating data recording tools, reviewing data quality, and providing feedback to refine testing protocols.
Tesla’s Autopilot is an ADAS platform that offers enhanced driver assistance, including features like automatic lane changes and turns under human supervision. The FSD system, still in supervised mode, enables the vehicle to handle most driving tasks autonomously.
All Tesla vehicles are equipped with multiple external cameras and use Tesla Vision, a camera-based system replacing radar, to deliver Autopilot functionality.
As Tesla readies for its highly anticipated India launch, the recruitment drive signals a major step in adapting its technologies to the country’s unique road conditions.
