The Standard Opens New Global Capability Centre In Bengaluru

The Standard (the company) has opened a global capability centre in Bengaluru, establishing the office in Embassy Tech Village. The centre marks the firm's formal expansion of operations in India, which began in November 2025 under the name The Standard India. The facility is intended to support the company's global technology strategy and to provide local delivery for engineering and operational roles.

The centre will support expanded work across artificial intelligence engineering, cloud platform development, data and analytics, digital transformation and insurance operations. The company plans to grow capabilities in software engineering, total experience, artificial intelligence and enterprise platforms as part of its long-term technology plans. It is expected to contribute to company-wide priorities by shifting selected technology work from vendor-led delivery to in-house engineering teams to improve agility and operational efficiency.

Since entering India, the company has expanded its local leadership team across finance, human resources, talent acquisition, information technology, administration and communications. Mohua Sengupta, senior vice president and country head at The Standard India, said that the hub is an integrated capability centre supporting engineering, data, artificial intelligence and insurance operations and that the structure combines enterprise scale with start-up agility. She said the model will give employees both stability and opportunities to build greenfield capabilities while collaborating with global teams.

Executives described the launch as a long-term investment in local talent and a signal of confidence in India as a strategic partner for future growth. Leadership expansion has already encompassed functions across finance and technology, and the centre is expected to accelerate digital transformation and delivery of new solutions to customers. The move aligns with a broader industry trend toward in-house engineering capacity aimed at sustaining innovation and scaling technology capability.
