Tripura Chief Minister Outlines Plan For Modern Cities And Villages

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said a developed Tripura will emerge through the construction of modern cities and villages alongside strengthened digital systems to deliver government services more swiftly to residents. He made the remarks while inaugurating a range of people oriented projects of the Agartala Municipal Corporation at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.

Saha announced that digital services will be enhanced across all municipal areas in the state, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation, and highlighted that the primary objective of the state government is to work for the welfare of Tripura's populace. He noted that goodwill is essential for implementation and attributed the rollout of new development projects across the state to public support for the present government.

He urged government employees, officials and public representatives to cooperate in implementing every development initiative under the Agartala Smart City Mission and other state projects in a transparent and timely manner. He referred to the Prime Minister's emphasis on work and said the state government seeks to follow that approach to ensure affordable lifestyles and improve living standards. He cautioned against complacency and said elected representatives have the responsibility to carry out public service and earn public trust by working for the welfare of the people.

Saha said Agartala is evolving as a promising modern city in the north-eastern region while the state works to protect cultural and historical heritage during development. He called on clubs and social organisations to promote awareness and help maintain a clean, healthy and completely drug free urban environment. At the event he inaugurated the Sabuj Sena, the Chandinamura Waste Transfer Centre, the Amar Agartala App and 51 mini vehicle projects, and handed over a state-of-the-art smoke cannon for mosquito control to municipal workers. Present at the programme were Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, Tamal Majumdar, Director of the Urban Development Department, and Commissioner Saju Bahid A.
