TRUMPF Boosts Productivity with TruMatic 5000

At its in-house exhibition INTECH, TRUMPF unveiled the integration of its advanced TruMatic 5000 punch laser machine with an automated STOPA storage system, enabling 24/7 autonomous operation. This development marks a significant step toward full automation in metalworking and sheet processing, transforming conventional production lines into smart factories with minimal downtime and manual intervention.

The TruMatic 5000, known for its high versatility in cutting, punching, and forming, now benefits from a seamless, fully automated material flow system. By connecting with TRUMPF’s Oseon software, the machine intuitively selects and loads materials based on upcoming tasks, ensuring a continuous production cycle without human involvement. Finished parts are automatically returned to the storage tower, eliminating the need for forklifts or manual handling.

This setup doesn’t just enhance efficiency and throughput—it also helps alleviate pressure on shop floor personnel. TRUMPF Product Manager Thomas Conzelmann explained, “The combination of our TruMatic 5000 and STOPA system allows companies to become smarter and more productive by automating not just production but also the preparation and follow-up processes.”

First showcased at BlechExpo 2023, the TruMatic 5000 comes with a 6 kW laser, a ToolMaster for automated tool changes, and a Sheet Master that ensures smooth transport of materials between the machine and warehouse. With the STOPA system, the machine can operate autonomously for up to two days, optimising resources and dramatically reducing idle times.

TRUMPF continues to push boundaries in industrial automation, bolstering its position as a global leader in machine tools and laser technology. With over 19,000 employees and €5.2 billion in sales for 2023/24, the company remains committed to digital manufacturing innovation across its global network of 90 companies and production sites.
