UPES, Samsung Heavy Industries India Partner on Learning

UPES has partnered with Samsung Heavy Industries India Private Limited (SHI-I) under its Work-Integrated Learning for Leadership (WILL) initiative to strengthen industry-aligned learning for working professionals. The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, will provide SHI-I employees access to structured higher education and skill development programmes.
Through WILL, UPES will offer online degree and certification programmes in areas such as power management, oil and gas, logistics and supply chain, infrastructure management, AI/ML, data science and cyber security. The programmes are designed to combine academic learning with practical workplace application, allowing employees to continue working while upgrading their skills.
The collaboration also includes part-time PhD opportunities, enabling employees to pursue research-led learning linked to industry challenges. As part of the agreement, SHI-I employees will receive a 20 per cent fee waiver, along with flexible learning options such as weekend live sessions, recorded lectures and online assessments.
The partnership reflects the growing shift towards flexible, industry-integrated learning models aimed at building future-ready talent and supporting long-term capability development.
