Uttarakhand CM Reviews Progress Of Key Infrastructure Projects
He directed officials to accelerate work on the Haridwar Ganga Corridor, the Sharda Riverfront Corridor, and the Rishikesh Ganga Corridor, and underlined that these projects should be prioritised. The meeting was held to promote investment and strengthen infrastructure across the state.
Dhami urged all concerned departments to work with seriousness, coordination and accountability to achieve the objectives set by the board and called for simplification of procedures to remove bottlenecks in project implementation. He instructed that visible on ground progress must be achieved within the next six months and that a clear timeline should be defined for each project with strict adherence to deadlines. Regular monitoring and reviews were ordered to prevent delays at any level.
Focusing on the Sharda Corridor, he asked officials to expedite work while ensuring land availability and to conduct studies on the area's landslide sensitivity, emphasising the need to prioritise safety measures. He said development of the riverfront and beautification of ghats along the Sharda River would enhance facilities for pilgrims and tourists and boost local amenities. Special emphasis was placed on preparations for the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh with instructions to prioritise Ganga cleanliness from Gangotri to Haridwar. The Chief Minister also called for improvements in sanitation, beautification and the strengthening of infrastructure at the ghats in Haridwar and Rishikesh.
He directed that all projects must maintain high standards of quality, transparency and timeliness to accelerate the state's overall development and establish Uttarakhand as an attractive investment destination. The main objectives of the Sharda and Ganga corridor projects were outlined as boosting religious tourism, strengthening the local economy and enhancing convenience for pilgrims. Both projects will be developed with distinct designs and the Sharda Corridor is expected to include multiple initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, tourism and local livelihoods.
