VECV, Jio-bp Pulse Partner for EV Charging Access

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV)—a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors—has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jio-bp Pulse to enhance access to electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for its commercial vehicle customers.
Under this partnership, all Eicher Trucks and Buses EV customers will gain streamlined access to over 6,000 Jio-bp charging points, which constitute India’s largest DC fast-charging network. These charging stations are strategically located across urban centres, highways, and dedicated EV hubs, offering compatibility with all commercial vehicle types.
Jio-bp Pulse, the EV arm of the Reliance–bp fuel retail joint venture, has built one of India’s fastest-growing charging networks. The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of electric trucks and buses by leveraging Jio-bp’s charging capabilities alongside VECV’s expertise in electric commercial vehicle technology.
A key innovation is the integration of charger discoverability into the My Eicher fleet management app, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative. Fleet operators will now benefit from real-time data on charger location and availability, enabling smarter route planning, enhanced uptime, and better productivity.
Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO, VECV, said, “By integrating Jio-bp Pulse’s vast network into our My Eicher app, we’re eliminating a key EV adoption barrier—charging access—while boosting fleet efficiency.”
Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Jio-bp, added, “This collaboration is a major leap in transforming India’s commercial mobility landscape toward a cleaner, sustainable future.”
Beyond the MoU, both companies plan to explore depot-level and customised infrastructure solutions for large-scale EV fleet and bus operations. Separate agreements will follow based on specific customer needs, further reinforcing the shift towards zero-emission commercial transport in India.
