VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jio-bp pulse to strengthen EV charging infrastructure for its electric commercial vehicle customers. The partnership will give all Eicher Trucks and Buses’ EV customers seamless access to Jio-bp’s network of over 6,000 charging points, India’s largest DC fast-charging footprint, spanning cities, highways, and purpose-built EV hubs designed for all types of commercial vehicles.

Jio-bp, the fuel retail joint venture of Reliance Industries and bp, operates one of India’s fastest growing EV charging networks under the Jio-bp pulse brand. Through this MoU, VECV and Jio-bp pulse will collaborate to accelerate the adoption of electric trucks and buses. Jio-bp will provide customized charging solutions backed by its extensive network and expertise, while VECV will contribute its deep knowledge of electric truck technology to ensure vehicles meet the diverse needs of commercial operations. Together, the companies will engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to support the transition to sustainable mobility.

A key highlight of the agreement is the integration of Jio-bp’s public charging network into the My Eicher fleet management app. For the first time, fleet operators will have real-time visibility of charger locations and availability directly within the app, addressing one of the biggest challenges in EV adoption—charging accessibility—while providing data-driven insights to improve fleet utilization and productivity.

Beyond this MoU, the companies will also explore depot-level charging solutions and bespoke infrastructure projects to support large EV fleets and bus operations, with additional agreements planned based on customer needs.
