Wipro Launches AI-Native Business And Platforms Unit

Wipro Limited (Wipro) announced on April 1, 2026 the launch of an AI-Native Business and Platforms Unit to complement its services business and accelerate Consulting-led, AI-powered transformation for clients. The new unit is intended to strengthen Wipro’s position in a services-as-software environment and to focus on building and scaling AI-led platforms and businesses. The announcement described the move as a strategic shift to deliver outcome-based value and non-linear growth.

With targeted investments and a distinct operating model, the unit will accelerate development of enterprise-grade agentic AI solutions and incubate new AI-led business streams through an invest-build-partner approach. It will operate in close collaboration with Wipro Ventures and the wider partner ecosystem to mobilise resources for rapid productisation. The initiative is expected to deepen capabilities across data, workflows, decision engines and infrastructure to enable faster value realisation for clients.

The unit will bring together a portfolio of platforms and AI-native businesses and will own and scale assets from the Wipro Intelligence suite. These include industry platforms such as NetOxygen for AI-powered lending, CROAMIS for integrated aviation cargo operations, IHS and HPS in healthcare, and Enterprise Telco AI, as well as delivery platforms such as WINGS and WEGA. Supported by dedicated forward-deployed engineering teams, the unit is intended to help clients unlock value faster, strengthen integrated platforms and services offerings, and enable more scalable non-linear growth.

Leadership changes are effective from April 1, 2026, with Nagendra Bandaru appointed as chief executive officer of the new business unit and continuing to report to Srini Pallia, chief executive officer and managing director of Wipro. Nagendra Bandaru brings nearly three decades of experience within Wipro and a track record of scaling platforms and transformative solutions. Kanwar Singh has joined Wipro as president and managing partner of Technology Services GBL with over 30 years of industry experience and will report to the chief executive officer and managing director and join the executive leadership team. The company expects the strategic pivot to position Wipro for scalable growth, sharper competitiveness and stronger consulting-led, AI-driven client outcomes.
