Wipro to Acquire HARMAN’s Digital Transformation Solutions unit for Rs 32.72 Bn

Bengaluru-based IT services company Wipro has announced the acquisition of HARMAN’s (a Samsung company) Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business unit in a deal valued at Rs 32.72 billion. The transaction is expected to close by the end of this year, subject to regulatory approvals.

Headquartered in Connecticut, USA, DTS provides engineering research and development (ER&D) and IT services across industrial, consumer, hi-tech, healthcare and life sciences sectors. Its offerings include embedded software, digital engineering, design thinking and device engineering. The unit employs more than 5,600 people across 14 countries, including India, the US, South Korea, the UK, Poland and Germany, all of whom will transition to Wipro upon completion of the acquisition.

The deal expands Wipro’s ER&D capabilities, particularly in AI-powered digital engineering and device engineering, spanning design-to-manufacturing solutions across technology, aerospace, healthcare and consumer industries. DTS reported consolidated revenues of $315 million in 2022, $308.2 million in 2023 and $314.5 million in 2024, with services accounting for around 85 per cent of its CY24 revenue.

As part of the acquisition, Wipro will enter into a multi-year strategic agreement with HARMAN and Samsung. Once completed, DTS will be integrated into Wipro’s Engineering Global Business Line.
