World Cement Association Annual Conference To Convene Leaders In Bangkok

The World Cement Association (WCA) will host its 2026 Annual Conference from 19 to 21 April 2026 at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Held under the theme of shaping a sustainable future through digitisation, innovation and performance, the two-day programme will convene industry leaders, policymakers, technology providers and stakeholders to examine strategic, operational and sustainability challenges. The programme will open with a comprehensive assessment of the global economic environment and regional outlooks across Asia and Europe that will inform discussion on market dynamics.

Sessions will explore regulatory developments including carbon border adjustment mechanisms in Europe and progress in China’s carbon trading system, together with market dynamics across Thailand and South East Asia. Industry experts will outline practical decarbonisation pathways that aim to safeguard competitiveness, including alternative fuels, next generation supplementary cementitious materials and developments in calcined clay alongside AI enabled kiln optimisation. The event will include case studies and regional perspectives on addressing overcapacity and restructuring while accelerating decarbonisation and unlocking performance.

The second day will build on strategic outlooks by addressing overcapacity challenges and industry restructuring through case studies and practical insights for plant operations and manufacturing optimisation. Additional sessions will cover digital maturity and AI driven plant operations, sustainable building solutions and circular concrete models while considering evolving customer requirements across the construction value chain. The conference will also host the WCA Awards Ceremony to recognise excellence in sustainability, innovation, safety and leadership, with the Awards Gala Dinner scheduled for 20 April.
