Hindustan Zinc Signs MoU to Upgrade RNT Hospital, Udaipur

Hindustan Zinc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the redesign, upgradation and development of Rabindra Nath Tagore (RNT) Hospital in Udaipur, marking a significant step towards strengthening public healthcare infrastructure in the region.
The MoU was signed by Arun Misra, CEO and Wholetime Director, Hindustan Zinc, and Vipin Mathur, Principal of RNT Hospital, in the presence of senior officials. As part of the collaboration, Hindustan Zinc will support a comprehensive master plan to transform RNT Hospital into a future-ready, multi-specialty healthcare facility equipped with advanced medical technologies and an ecosystem conducive to research and development.
A key component of the initiative is Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to set up a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at the hospital. The facility will enable advanced, minimally invasive cardiac procedures such as coronary angiography, angioplasty, stent placement and emergency management of heart attacks, improving response times and patient outcomes for residents of Udaipur and neighbouring districts.
Commenting on the development, Arun Misra said access to quality healthcare is fundamental to building resilient communities, adding that the initiative aims to ensure advanced and affordable medical care is available to a wider population across Rajasthan.
Vipin Mathur noted that Hindustan Zinc has had a long-standing association with RNT Hospital and has consistently supported the development of cardiology and other departments. He said the MoU formalises the decision to establish a Cath Lab within the hospital’s cardiology centre.
Beyond strengthening public healthcare delivery, the initiative is expected to enhance Udaipur’s positioning as a medical tourism destination by leveraging upgraded infrastructure and specialised care capabilities. Hindustan Zinc said the project reflects its broader commitment to community development through sustained investments in healthcare, education, skill development, women empowerment and public infrastructure across Rajasthan.
