Hindustan Zinc, India’s largest integrated zinc producer, reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young minds through quality education, skill development, and inclusive learning. Over the past five years, the company’s flagship education initiatives — Nand Ghar, Shiksha Sambal, Unchi Udaan, and Jeevan Tarang — have impacted more than 10 lakh children across its operational areas.
Through Shiksha Sambal, Hindustan Zinc supports 35,000+ students across 140 schools, strengthening foundational learning in science, mathematics, and English. The initiative has achieved a 95 per cent pass rate in Class 10 board exams, with 23 schools recording 100 per cent results. The company has also established STEM labs, developed 26 model schools, and renovated 10 schools to enhance learning environments.
Under Unchi Udaan, 150 rural and tribal students have secured admission to premier institutions, including IITs and government engineering colleges, with placements averaging Rs 10 lakh annually. The Jeevan Tarang initiative has empowered 2,600+ children with disabilities through sign language training, mental health workshops, and pre-vocational learning.
A flagship project of the Anil Agarwal Foundation, Nand Ghars continue to strengthen early childhood education and women’s empowerment, benefitting 3.7 lakh women and children through nearly 2,000 centres.
Additionally, the Zinc Football Academy at Zawar, Rajasthan, has trained over 3,250 young athletes, many of whom have represented their state and nation.
Arun Misra, CEO & Whole-time Director, Hindustan Zinc, said, “Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream without limits. Our initiatives go beyond classrooms to build confidence, curiosity, and capability.”
