Humanscale Ranked No.1 in Sustainability by MMQB Scorecard
Humanscale, the New York-headquartered leader in workplace ergonomics, has been ranked No.1 for sustainability in the contract furniture industry by MMQB, a leading US trade publication. The ranking is based on MMQB’s newly released sustainability scorecard that evaluates verified data from third-party certifications, climate disclosures, and material transparency.
The scorecard draws from globally recognised programmes such as EcoVadis, CDP, B Corp, JUST, and TRUE Zero Waste. Humanscale ranked first overall in four of the 12 categories and placed in the top three across seven categories. The company holds EcoVadis Gold certification (valid through January 2026), B Corp certification, and an A- rating in the 2024 CDP climate disclosure. It also remains the only firm publishing a full suite of climate-positive products—29 in total—accounting for 55 per cent of its 2024 revenue.
Humanscale further leads with the highest number of Declare labels (20.71 per cent of the industry total) and ranks second in Health Product Declarations (HPDs). Its Chicago showroom has undergone a Design for Freedom pre-audit, while four of its global facilities carry LEED, LBC, and TRUE transparency credentials.
We are extremely proud to be ranked No 1 in Sustainability by MMQB,” said Alastair Stubbs, Country Director India, Humanscale. “The contract furniture industry likes to talk a big game about sustainability. But when actual data is compared side-by-side, the gap between leaders and laggards is wide—and growing. Humanscale stands alone at the top, backed by third-party audits, transparent reporting, and climate-positive products.”
“As an industry leader in sustainability, Humanscale is not only setting environmental benchmarks but also strategically positioning itself for competitive advantage. MMQB underscores the importance of material health, product-level climate impact, and transparent reporting as key differentiators in the sector,” Stubbs added.
In India, Humanscale operates through its authorised distribution partner S Cube Ergonomics Pvt Ltd, with exclusive showrooms and Ergonomics Experience Centres in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune, alongside 15+ multi-brand retail outlets. Its clientele includes global firms such as Visa, LinkedIn, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Google, Bank of America, and PepsiCo.
