Mumbai will host the inaugural Mumbai Climate Week (MCW) from 17–19 February 2026, positioning the city as a Global South platform for climate leadership, innovation and citizen engagement.

Organised by Project Mumbai and supported by the Government of Maharashtra, the Department of Environment and Climate Change, MMRDA and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the three-day event will convene more than 400 speakers and representatives from over 30 countries.

The central hub at Jio World Convention Centre will host leadership dialogues, thematic sessions, innovation challenges and an exhibition arena, alongside citywide campus and community events under a hub-and-spoke model.

Global and National Leadership

Confirmed international participants include Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates and senior representatives from multilateral and philanthropic institutions. Indian leadership expected in attendance includes Devendra Fadnavis, Bhupendra Yadav, S. Jaishankar and Piyush Goyal, among others.

Business and finance leaders, civil society representatives and youth networks will also participate, with sessions focusing on climate finance, urban resilience, energy transition and food systems.

Earthshot Prize and Innovation Focus

Day one of the hub will feature a debut evening dedicated to The Earthshot Prize, founded by Prince William, spotlighting scalable environmental solutions.

The MCW Innovation Challenge, led by National Stock Exchange of India, will invite startups and climate innovators to pitch solutions across key themes. Youth engagement will be driven in partnership with UNICEF India and YuWaah.

Citizen-Centric Climate Model

A dedicated citizen platform, VaartaVaran, will provide open speaking slots for registered participants, reinforcing MCW’s focus on community-led dialogue. The event will also include a Sustainability Mela, campus roadshows, cultural programmes and neighbourhood workshops across Mumbai.

Structured around three pillars — food systems, energy transition and urban resilience — MCW aims to move beyond dialogue towards implementable, funded solutions and long-term partnerships.
