TCI expands cold chain footprint with 1.5 lakh sq ft facility in Gurugram

Transport Corporation of India Ltd. (TCI) has expanded its cold chain infrastructure with the addition of a 1.5 lakh sq ft temperature-controlled facility at Taj Nagar, Gurugram, strengthening its logistics footprint across the National Capital Region.

Operated by TCI Cold Chain Solutions, a joint venture between TCI and Japan’s Mitsui & Co., the new facility is designed to support high-growth sectors such as quick commerce, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, dairy, meat and poultry, life sciences and specialty chemicals. The development adds to TCI’s nationwide warehousing footprint of over 16 million sq ft.

Strategically located between the KMP Expressway and Dwarka Expressway, the facility benefits from 24x7 truck movement access and strong regional connectivity, enabling faster turnaround and efficient last-mile distribution across Delhi NCR and adjoining markets. It offers multi-temperature zones—including frozen, chilled and ambient storage—and supports flexible operating models such as box-in/box-out, palletised handling and unit-based storage.

The facility has been designed with a strong focus on safety, sustainability and operational efficiency. Key features include a 500 kW rooftop solar power system, energy-efficient refrigeration, SCADA-based monitoring, VESDA fire detection systems and over 600 CCTV cameras for real-time surveillance.

Commenting on the expansion, B. Sumit Kumar, CEO, TCI Cold Chain Solutions, said the new facility strengthens the company’s ability to serve fast-growing, compliance-driven supply chains. He added that the location and infrastructure would support scalable, reliable cold chain operations for customers across the region.

With the addition of the Gurugram facility, TCI continues to strengthen its position as a leading integrated cold chain and logistics solutions provider in India.
