Taural India, one of the country’s leading integrated aluminium foundries, has supplied high-quality aluminium castings to Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd for use in propulsion gearboxes under an Indigenous Patrol Vessels Programme. Co-designed by the two companies, the gearboxes have now been successfully delivered, marking a key milestone in the indigenisation of marine propulsion systems and strengthening India’s advanced marine manufacturing capabilities.

As part of the collaboration, Taural India developed and supplied 16 complete sets of aluminium castings in under five months. Drawing on its expertise in aluminium sand casting, the company refined the designs, optimised component weight and delivered structurally sound, defect-free castings with complex internal cavities, meeting the stringent strength and performance requirements of critical marine applications.
