Turning slag into infrastructure

Naveen Jindal, Chairman, Jindal Steel, has led the company’s entry into the Guinness World Records for constructing the world’s longest road using processed steel slag aggregates. Developed in collaboration with CSIR-Central Road Research Institute, the 1.85-km four-lane road at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, uses around 2 lakh tonnes of processed steel slag, replacing natural aggregates. Jindal has described the project as a step towards converting industrial waste into a resource for infrastructure, while advancing more circular approaches to construction.
