AAI Chief Reviews Leh Airport Development Progress

Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Vipin Kumar, along with Member (Planning) Anil Kumar Gupta, visited Leh Airport yesterday to review key infrastructure upgrades at the strategically important aviation hub.

The visit focused on assessing the progress of major development works, including the upcoming new terminal building, and evaluating the airport’s operational efficiency.

During the inspection, the Chairman interacted with airport officials and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, stressing the need to accelerate all ongoing works. He instructed project teams to ensure the timely completion of upgrades by October 2025, aimed at improving capacity for safe, seamless, and efficient passenger movement.
