AAI Signs MoU With Bharat Taxi To Enhance Connectivity At Select Airports
Bharat Taxi, operated as a driver-owned cooperative by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd., is promoted by the National Cooperative Development Corporation and supported by leading cooperative institutions. The cooperative model is designed to guarantee transparent pricing with no surge charges and to promote driver welfare and ownership, thereby distinguishing it from conventional ride-hailing platforms. The MoU specifies that the services will operate under regulated terms to ensure passenger convenience and operational transparency.
Services under the collaboration are proposed to commence at airports in Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bhuj, Pune, Aurangabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Agra, strengthening connectivity at a set of regional nodes. The platform has already secured partnerships with multiple institutions including the Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and State Bank of India to enable regulated operations, financing and integrated last-mile solutions across urban and airport ecosystems. The expansion forms part of Bharat Taxi's broader rollout following its recent formal launch as a cooperative-based taxi service.
AAI and Bharat Taxi expect the collaboration to enhance passenger experience at regional airports by providing reliable, surge-free transport while also empowering local drivers through cooperative ownership and access to regulated markets. The initiative is presented as aligning with national priorities such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, Sahakar se Samriddhi and the long-term vision for Viksit Bharat 2047. Both parties have indicated that operational details will be finalised before services commence at the designated airports.
