Bihar to get six new airports under UDAN scheme

The Bihar cabinet has approved a Rs.1.5 billion plan to develop six regional airports under the UDAN scheme in Madhubani, Birpur (Supaul), Munger, Valmiki Nagar (Bettiah), Muzaffarpur and Saharsa, following a memorandum of understanding with the Airports Authority of India. Each site is set to receive `250 million in initial funding. The initiative aims to improve regional air connectivity and support tourism. In addition, the cabinet approved procurement policies for pulses and oilseeds at MSP, a Rs.25.8 million study of sand-bearing rivers, and land acquisition for industrial development.
