Chennai Airport T2 Phase II Review Held

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess progress on the New Integrated Terminal Building T2 Phase II project at Chennai International Airport. During the meeting, officials were firmly directed to ensure that the nationally important project is completed without any delay. The Secretary instructed the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and the Project Management Consultant (PMC) to work in close coordination and resolve all pending issues immediately so that the terminal expansion is delivered on priority, according to a MoCA social media update.

The Phase II expansion spans 86,135 sq m and is aimed at significantly strengthening Chennai airport’s infrastructure. Once completed, the upgraded T2 will increase passenger handling capacity to 35 million passengers per annum while improving the overall travel experience. The development focuses on smoother passenger movement, enhanced accessibility and the ability to cater to rising air traffic demand across the southern region.
