Civil Aviation Minister Announces Five New Airports in Uttar Pradesh

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia revealed plans for the inauguration of five new airports in Uttar Pradesh within a month. The announcement was made during a virtual function celebrating the launch of IndiGo's flight service from Ayodhya to Ahmedabad.

Ayodhya airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, will undergo expansion, including an extended runway to accommodate larger aircraft and support international operations, as stated by Mr. Scindia.

The new airports in Azamgarh, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Shravasti are set to increase the total count to 19 in Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking at the same event, anticipates around 100 chartered flights landing at Ayodhya airport on January 22 for the Ram temple consecration ceremony. The second phase expansion of Ayodhya airport is expected to commence soon, bringing more connectivity to the city.
