The new interchange linking the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway will provide a direct connection near Jaganpur-Afzalpur village, around two kilometres from Galgotias University and 10 kilometres from Pari Chowk. Planned in 2019 to bolster regional connectivity, it will be the first direct link between the two expressways. The link will allow traffic to bypass local roads that commuters currently use via the Sirsa interchange near Bir Akbarpur.

Officials say journeys to Noida International Airport will shorten by nearly 15 to 20 kilometres for many users and travel time could fall by around 15 to 30 minutes depending on the starting point. Motorists from Palwal may save 15 to 20 minutes while those from Meerut could save nearly 30 minutes. Travellers from Kundli and Panipat are likely to save about 20 to 25 minutes and the interchange will improve access to YEIDA sectors.

The cloverleaf design will include four loops and four connecting ramps to enable movements between the expressways without significant slowing, and is intended to ease congestion at Pari Chowk, Kasna and Ghangola village. Work on the interchange has reached 75 per cent completion. Remaining tasks cover road surfacing, retaining walls, crash barriers, lane markings, signboards, streetlights, landscaping and other safety infrastructure.

National Highways Authority of India chairman Santosh Yadav reviewed progress with YEIDA officials and asked contractors to speed up remaining work. The YEIDA chief executive said they expected completion by 30 September and opening to the public by 15 October. The project had faced delays from land acquisition, farmers’ protests, design revisions and rising costs after the foundation stone was laid on 15 December 2023, and the estimate has risen from Rs 755 million (mn) initially to Rs 1.23 billion (bn) before further revision to Rs 2.7 billion (bn). The present connection to Noida International Airport runs via a seven-kilometre stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link road in Noida while the remaining section through Haryana is expected to be completed next year.
