Heritage Aviation Private Limited (Heritage Aviation) signed a contract to acquire one Airbus H130 helicopter at Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad. The aircraft will be deployed for passenger transportation, heli-pilgrimage and regional connectivity missions. The deal was announced by the operator during the event as part of efforts to expand aerial services. The acquisition forms part of a broader push to develop private helicopter operations in underserved regions.

The company stated the new H130 would be used to expand its regional connectivity footprint, including operations in the North East, which largely remains virgin territory for private helicopter operations. The deployment is intended to support passenger movement to pilgrimage sites and to link smaller towns with major urban centres. Heritage Aviation framed the move as a step towards widening access to remote areas through charter and scheduled services.

Airbus Helicopters in India and South Asia (Airbus Helicopters) indicated the addition would expand heli-pilgrimage routes and align with the Central government's ambitions to widen the regional connectivity network. The manufacturer highlighted that the model's cabin configuration and performance characteristics make it suitable for short-haul passenger missions and operations at smaller helipads. Industry observers noted that private operators acquiring versatile platforms can complement state efforts to boost mobility across difficult terrain.

The addition of the H130 is expected to improve access to remote pilgrimage sites and reduce travel times for passengers who currently rely on road travel. Operators plan to integrate the new helicopter into existing schedules and to explore new routes where demand and infrastructure permit. The move may also stimulate ancillary services such as ground handling and local maintenance, thereby supporting the growth of a regional aviation ecosystem.
