Hyderabad Airport, Brussels Airport Sign MoU for Cargo Connectivity

GMR Hyderabad International Airport and Brussels Airport have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen air cargo connectivity between Hyderabad and Europe. The partnership will focus on route development, market intelligence, cargo best practices and engagement with airlines, freight forwarders and other stakeholders.

The agreement brings together Hyderabad Airport’s expanding cargo capabilities and Brussels Airport’s established position in the European air cargo ecosystem. The airports will work to strengthen cargo flows and trade linkages between India and Europe while identifying ways to improve Hyderabad’s access to key European markets.

The two airports will jointly assess market demand and commodity flows, and develop business cases for Hyderabad-Brussels connectivity. They will also coordinate engagement with airlines and cargo industry participants to support new services and improve direct and onward connections to destinations across Europe through Brussels.

The partnership places particular emphasis on pharmaceutical and life sciences cargo. Brussels Airport has extensive expertise in pharmaceutical logistics and serves as an important European hub for the sector, while Hyderabad has a significant life sciences ecosystem. The collaboration is intended to support knowledge exchange and strengthen cargo opportunities for businesses in both regions.

The airports will exchange market intelligence and international cargo best practices, including information on European cargo trends, route development and airline engagement. Coordinated stakeholder outreach will support commercially viable and sustainable cargo corridors, while strengthening Hyderabad Airport’s position as an international cargo gateway. GMR Hyderabad International Airport said the agreement would support its ambition to build a more globally integrated cargo network and facilitate international trade. The collaboration is also expected to contribute to trade expansion and economic growth across the connected markets.
