IndiGo Starts Direct Long-Haul Flights Between Mumbai and Manchester

In a significant move towards international expansion, IndiGo has introduced its first-ever long-haul direct flight service between Mumbai and Manchester. This marks a major milestone in the airline’s global strategy, aligning with its broader internationalisation initiative, ‘Towards New Heights and Across New Frontiers’.

The new service will operate three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. These flights will be operated under a damp lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways, signalling IndiGo’s official entry into the long-haul market.

The route has been designed to serve a wide range of travellers, including business professionals, students, tourists, and the large Indian diaspora in the UK. It is also intended to enhance economic, educational, and cultural ties between India and the United Kingdom.

The airline is offering premium onboard services, including specially curated complimentary hot meals and beverages for all passengers. The aircraft features 56 IndiGoStretch seats and 282 Economy seats, each equipped with personal entertainment screens providing over 300 hours of content. Meals will showcase Indian regional cuisine in collaboration with domestic food brands.

The flight schedule is as follows (local times):

Flight 6E 0031: Departs Mumbai at 04:25 and arrives in Manchester at 10:05.

Flight 6E 0032: Departs Manchester at 12:05 and lands in Mumbai at 01:55 the following day.

With this launch, IndiGo aims to enhance air connectivity between India and the UK while establishing itself as a competitive player in the global aviation market.
