Jaipur Airport Begins Rs 6 Billion Upgrade Works

Jaipur International Airport Ltd has launched a major infrastructure upgrade worth over Rs 6 billion to improve passenger facilities and handle the rising footfall more efficiently. The upgrade involves 14 projects aimed at transforming the airport’s operational capacity and traveller experience.
A key part of the initiative is the 15,000 square metre expansion of Terminal 2, which will significantly increase handling capacity. Once completed, the terminal will house 63 check-in counters, reducing wait times and easing congestion during peak travel hours.
Other developments include the installation of Self-Baggage Drop counters, upgraded security screening systems, and enhanced boarding facilities. A new forecourt area is also being constructed, featuring retail zones, public utilities, and landscaped surroundings to elevate the overall ambience and convenience for passengers.
Additionally, the airport will benefit from expanded apron space, allowing for better aircraft parking and smoother operations. The comprehensive overhaul is part of the airport’s long-term strategy to support regional growth, improve traveller comfort, and align with modern airport standards.
