L&T Construction's Buildings, Factories & Transportation infrastructure division revealed that it had successfully secured a significant contract for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh. The project, being undertaken in collaboration with GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Ltd (GVIAL), aims to develop an airport facility capable of accommodating 6 million passengers per year initially, with plans for expansion to handle 12 million passengers in the future. L&T Construction is currently engaged in construction projects for major airports in cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Navi Mumbai.

The key components of the Bhogapuram International Airport project encompass various developmental activities, including cut and fill works, construction of the terminal with airport systems, air traffic control (ATC) tower, airfield development works (such as the South Runway measuring 3800 meters in length, apron, taxiways, airfield ground lighting, fuel hydrant works, and other facilities), landside facilities like roads and landscapes, utilities, and other essential support facilities.

Earlier in August, the company had also announced securing a contract from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) for the construction of a cricket stadium in Varanasi. Spanning 30.67 acres, the stadium will accommodate 30,000 spectators and will feature amenities in line with the International Cricket Council (ICC) standards. The project includes the main ground, a display scoreboard, floodlights, corporate boxes, VIP lounges, office areas, broadcasting facilities, press conference areas, as well as kitchen and dining areas, along with a practice ground.

Furthermore, in September, L&T Construction clinched a substantial order worth Rs 7,000 crore for the design and construction of an underground road tunnel connecting Orange Gate on the Eastern Free Way to the Marine Drive coastal road in Mumbai. The project involves the construction of twin road tunnels using tunnel boring machines (TBMs), connecting these tunnels to the existing elevated Eastern Freeway at Orange Gate via transition ramps, and linking them to Marine Drive in Mumbai. The entire project is slated to be completed within 54 months.
