Navi Mumbai Airport Adds E-Shivai Buses, Shuttles and Taxis

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is expanding its ground transport network with new electric buses, an inter-airport shuttle and additional taxi services as passenger connectivity is increased ahead of the winter flight schedule.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will launch e-Shivai electric bus services from NMIA on 7 October. The routes will connect the airport with Dadar, Borivli and Pune, with fares set at Rs. 170 to Dadar East, Rs. 210 to Borivli and Rs. 450 to Pune. Children below 12 and women travelling with a National Common Mobility Card will qualify for half-fare.

The Dadar service will run via Sion and Atal Setu, while the Borivli route will connect NMIA with Mumbai’s Terminal 1, Bandra and Atal Setu. Services to Thane and Nashik are planned by mid-November, adding further regional links to the airport’s network.

A complimentary hourly shuttle will operate between NMIA and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Cityflo, Aarya and Chalo will operate the service, providing a direct connection between the two airports. Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport operates seven dedicated airport routes linking Terminal 1 with Kharkopar, Targhar, Belapur, Nerul, Panvel, Khandeshwar and the Airport Project Office.

Bharat Taxi will begin operations from 10 October with a fleet of up to 40 vehicles, while Uber Go, Uber Premier and Uber Auto will also be available. The airport, operated by Adani Airport Holdings, is expanding its overall ground transport capacity to 4,689 vehicles and services, including 3,787 app-based taxis, 184 car rentals, 171 autorickshaws and 547 buses. NMIA has also improved wayfinding and designated areas for buses, shuttles, arrivals and departures. The winter flight schedule will run from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027.
