New railway line to connect Noida Airport with Palwal
An estimated Rs 24 billion will be spent on the project, which would take three years to finish. The whole route, including connecting tracks, will cover over 99 kilometres, with the main track between Chola and Rundhi stations being 61 km. Initially serving more than 1.2 lakh passengers, the proposed route will have stops at Rundhi, Chandhat, Jewar Khadar, Airport, Jahangirpur, Bighapur, and Chola. Objectives and aspirations Five railway flyovers will be built as part of the project, two on the Chennai-Delhi line and three on the Howrah route, to seamlessly connect with the current network that travels through Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Along with 45 small road crossings, there will be a large bridge that crosses the Yamuna River. The alignment, according to officials, is intended to cause as little disturbance as possible to already-existing buildings and populated areas. Additionally, it will strive to lessen obstacles to land acquisition and avoid getting in the way of the Eastern Peripheral Motorway. The terminal building and the airport station will be connected, making passenger transfers simple. Additionally, the alignment will enhance access to important places, such as the multimodal transportation hub close to Dadri. This line is anticipated to be serviced by fast trains like Vande Bharat, which will connect locations like New Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, and Lucknow.
The proposal to connect the Noida airport with existing lines at Palwal and Chola stations was approved by the railways last year. The eastern freight corridor, which stretches from Kolkata to Amritsar, passes close to the airport, with Chola station being the nearest point along this corridor. On the western side, Palwal serves as the closest point on the Delhi-Mumbai line.
