Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the new Dunes Aviation Academy at the Hamirgarh airstrip in Bhilwara district on Tuesday.
“The MoU for this academy, signed at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investors Summit in December last year, marks a major step in making Rajasthan a key aviation hub in India,” CM Sharma said. He added that the academy will allow local youths to pursue civil aviation careers without leaving the state, contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of self-reliance in aviation.
The Rajasthan government has also been expanding civil aviation infrastructure, including updating the state’s civil aviation policy, accelerating the Kota Greenfield Airport project, and upgrading facilities at Jaipur’s Sanganer and Udaipur’s Dabok airports.
Dunes Aviation Academy expressed gratitude to the CM and the state government for supporting the academy’s second base in Bhilwara. The facility promises world-class pilot training in an ideal environment, benefiting from the airstrip’s uncontrolled airspace, minimal traffic, year-round favourable weather, and consistent flight hours, the company stated.
