Safran, Uni Tritech sign MoU for LEAP components

Safran Aircraft Engines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Uni Tritech Private to manufacture components for the CFM LEAP engine programme, strengthening its global supply chain and India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
Under the agreement, Uni Tritech will produce aluminium investment cast parts for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines at its Dharwad facility in Karnataka. The components will be cast, machined and treated locally, adhering to stringent quality, safety and certification standards required for next-generation commercial aircraft engines.
The collaboration aligns with Safran’s strategy to build a resilient and diversified supply chain while reinforcing India’s role as a key aerospace hub. Uni Tritech will leverage its advanced foundry technologies, precision machining and metallurgical expertise to deliver high-performance, durable components.
The LEAP engine, developed by CFM International—a joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace—powers modern single-aisle aircraft with enhanced fuel efficiency and performance.
Both companies highlighted that the partnership will support innovation, skills development and long-term industrial collaboration in the global aviation sector.
