TruAlt Bioenergy Secures Rs 1.5 bn PM JI-VAN Support for SAF Project

TruAlt Bioenergy has secured Rs 1.5 billion (bn) from the PM JI-VAN programme to support a sustainable aviation fuel project in the Asia Pacific region. The funding represents a significant endorsement of the company's technology pathway and project plan by a central government initiative that aims to accelerate low carbon fuel solutions. The company positioned the support as a catalyst to move its processes from pilot scale toward larger demonstration activities.

The support will be directed to advance commercialisation activities, expand pilot operations and enhance feedstock logistics without disclosing detailed capital allocation. TruAlt Bioenergy intends to integrate its conversion technology with locally available biomass and waste streams and to refine process efficiency to support scale-up. The company also plans to pursue partnerships with industrial offtakers and seek regulatory clearances necessary for deployment.

The announcement comes amid growing policy emphasis on developing domestic sustainable aviation fuel supply chains and on reducing lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from aviation. PM JI-VAN support programmes aim to catalyse private investment and demonstration projects that can validate pathways for broader commercial uptake. Stakeholders in industry and government will monitor the project’s progress as an indicator of emerging capabilities in the region.

TruAlt Bioenergy indicated that the backing will enable it to meet near term regulatory milestones and to attract follow on financing as it advances toward commercial production of SAF. The company set out a staged roadmap to deploy demonstration plants, validate lifecycle emissions savings and build supply chain arrangements in partnership with suppliers. Observers will track permitting, scale-up and offtake developments as the project progresses.
