Vietnam Airlines to buy Chinese C919 passenger jets

In order to deal with an aircraft shortage, Vietnam Airlines is thinking of purchasing C919 passenger planes manufactured in China, according to local media on Thursday. The business publication CafeF stated, "The airline is working on a plan to operate this fleet of aircraft." An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by Vietnam Airlines. The business claimed in a statement on Monday that Pratt & Whitney's worldwide engine recalls were affecting operations and leading to a scarcity of planes. After making its worldwide premiere at the Singapore Airshow, the Commercial Aviation Corp. of China (COMAC)-built C919 passenger plane made its first landing in Vietnam in February.
