The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has freed 27 hectares of land across four villages near the Noida International Airport site. The reclaimed land, valued at over Rs 4.06 billion, was occupied by unauthorised housing developments, officials said on 26th May.

Yeida's action targeted illegal constructions within the airport’s catchment zone along the Yamuna Expressway. These areas were designated for planned development under the greenfield airport expansion strategy.

According to Yeida Chief Executive Officer Arun Vir Singh, strict measures were taken against unauthorised builders. He confirmed the formation of four dedicated teams for site monitoring and regular demolition drives. These teams will operate under senior official supervision and will remain stationed in the area.

The land department executed demolitions in Tappal, Simrothi, and Haivalpur villages as part of the drive. Officials added that the operation is part of Yeida’s broader effort to safeguard infrastructure zones around the Noida International Airport from encroachments and illegal developments.

The authority is expected to continue these efforts to ensure that land use adheres to the city's master planning and urban development regulations.
