Yeida Plans Golf City Near Jewar Airport

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) will develop a world-class Golf City in Sector 22F, close to the upcoming greenfield international airport in Jewar. Spanning 650 acres, the project will feature a championship-level golf course, alongside limited residential, commercial, and institutional facilities. Global consultancy Ernst & Young has been appointed to prepare the feasibility and detailed project report (DPR).
Yeida confirmed that the development forms part of its Master Plan 2041, which prioritises green infrastructure and recreation. “We have engaged an agency to prepare the feasibility report for this project,” said Shailendra Bhatia, officer on special duty, Yeida.
The proposed Golf City will include sports clubs, training centres, pro-shops, swimming pools, restaurants, multipurpose halls, hostels, and residential units for players, trainers, and sports students. It will be one of the first major recreational initiatives under the Master Plan.
Yeida’s broader vision aims to establish an eco-city with landscaped green belts, parks, and leisure hubs. Under Master Plan 2041, 5,544 hectares—14.77 per cent of the total urbanisable area—are dedicated to green use. Of this, 1,002 hectares (2.67 per cent) are earmarked for recreation, including sports fields, walking trails, and themed developments.
Officials said the authority intends to offer diverse outdoor activities that improve quality of life and create a vibrant community. In addition to Golf City, Sectors 22 and 23 will be developed into a larger recreational hub. Plans include an Olympic City with sports complexes and training centres, and an Olympic Village with accommodation and facilities for athletes. The integrated approach is expected to position the region as a global sports and leisure destination capable of hosting international events.
