Amit Shah Lays Foundation Stone for Six-Lane Expansion in Gujarat
The project, estimated at Rs 8.05 billion, will widen the existing 28.8-kilometre road section into a six-lane highway to accommodate growing traffic, with an average daily vehicle count of 43,014. Service roads, flyovers, underpasses, and 13 bridge widenings are part of the plan, along with the construction or upgrading of 172 culverts.
Upon completion, the road expansion will benefit key industrial hubs like Sanand and Viramgam and improve connectivity to Surendranagar, Shankheshwar, Radhanpur, and Patan. The project is expected to reduce accidents, alleviate congestion, and save travel time for commuters.
Shah and Patel also met with local citizens, extending New Year greetings and receiving bouquets during the event.
