Andhra Pradesh: agrees Eegalapenta-Srisailam ropeway project

The $400 million ropeway project connecting Srisailam and Eegalapenta in Telangana has received approval from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

According to Special Chief Secretary of AP Tourism Development Rajat Bhargava, this is a component of the Parvatamala Pariyojan Project, under which the Center has decided to distribute funds for 26 ropeway projects around the nation.

The ropeway project would contribute in the growth of tourism, he claimed, as many devotees visit the Srisailam shrine.
