The Bangalore Development Authority has issued a final notification to acquire 1,427 acres and 24.25 guntas of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru for the Peripheral Ring Road two project, which has been rebranded as the Bengaluru Business Corridor. The land parcels notified are located around Bylakere and form part of the alignment planned to encircle the city and link radial arteries. The move follows earlier clearances and marks a formal step in the land acquisition process.

Work on the Peripheral Ring Road one, which is divided into four packages, is at various stages of implementation and continues alongside preparatory activity for the second corridor. The fresh notification covers the parcels required specifically for the second corridor and clarifies the extent of land the authority intends to acquire under its statutory powers. Administrative processes such as surveying and valuation will proceed under the statutory framework after notification.

The notification triggers statutory procedures including survey, valuation and issuance of compensation notices to affected landowners under applicable laws. The authority has indicated that the acquisition is aimed at enabling construction of road infrastructure, service corridors and related urban development necessary for the corridor. Project promoters and urban planners have linked the corridor to improved freight movement and regional connectivity.

The rebranded Bengaluru Business Corridor forms part of a broader urban transport and land use strategy for the metropolitan region and is intended to alleviate congestion on existing ring roads. The authority will coordinate with local bodies and infrastructure agencies to integrate utilities and minimise disruption during construction. The final notification is a key administrative milestone in progressing the corridor towards implementation and operation.
