The Shivananda circle steel flyover, which was supposed to open on August 15, has missed its deadline and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has yet to fully open it for public use. However, one side of the flyover had been opened as part of the Independence Day trail run. The flyover's construction is said to be incomplete as the asphalting work on a stretch is still ongoing. The total cost of this project has reportedly increased from Rs 190 million to Rs 390 million. The steel bridge was originally supposed to be 326 m long, but the civic body later decided to extend it to 493 m.
